Company Profile

Stove enamellers first began business in 1952 in Bradford by George Illingworth followed later on by his son David in 1958. We began stove enamelling & air drying metal & plastic parts.

The business began to grow and we later followed on with the introduction of powder coating in 1972. We then set up a another company Powder coatings Limited, but a few years later we decided to consolidate the two companies together and introduce a new company called Sherwood Coatings Limited. In the 1980s David's two sons joined the company leading it further forward into the future.

Over the years we invested in more powder coating units & ovens to expand our facility and to give us more flexibility. In the 1980s due to customer requirement we began to offer an all in one service of manufacturing & powder coating.
